Material Space

My flatmate has a concussion, and she is caring for the material space of the house much more now than she did when she did not have a concussion. In particular the living room, – she cares especially about keeping the living room tidy, because that is where she spends most of her time. Her concussion drastically limits both her mobility and the kinds of environments where she can spend time; she has therefore made the living room into a cozy concussion-friendly cavern. Moreover, she cannot look at screens, and so she is barred from the virtual world. She is confined to a very small part of the material world, and so wishes to feel at home in it as much as possible. One always wants to feel at home in whatever part of the world one inhabits.
